Harvest Location: Ta Xua, Son La, Vietnam

Harvest Date: 2023 - Spring

Cultivar: Shan Tuyet

Elevation: 1750 meters

Sourced from the mist-covered slopes of Tà Xùa in Sơn La Province, this 2023 pu’er-style tea cake is made from Shan Tuyet trees—estimated to be around 300 years old—that grow along the high ridges at roughly 1,750 meters. The cool climate and steady cloud cover slow the growth of these ancient trees, giving their leaves a naturally dense, concentrated character perfectly suited for slow fermentation and long-term aging.

The leaf material is picked and crafted entirely by hand by a local H’Mông family, using traditional processing methods that preserve the depth and integrity of the old-tree leaves. Once shaped into a pu’er-style cake, the tea develops a warm, wood-leaning profile with gentle sweetness, subtle resinous notes, and a clean mountain finish. With each infusion, the body thickens gradually, revealing deeper herbal hints and a calm, steady presence in the cup.

The result is a young but grounded tea with clear aging potential, carrying the quiet strength and calming, centering qi that Tà Xùa’s ancient tea forests are known for.
