Japanese Tea Tasting with Taka and Haru

Join us on Saturday, August 8 at 1:00 PM at the New York Tea Society Tea Studio – Koreatown for a special afternoon exploring the teas of Oku-Yame, Fukuoka, Japan.

Hosted by longtime tea friends and New York Tea Society members, Taka and Haru Matsushisa, this tasting offers a rare opportunity to experience four distinct teas produced from the same organic tea farm and harvested from the same mountain during the May 2025 harvest.

Taka and Haru have been spending the past few springs in Yame, living and working alongside local tea farmers. Through their close collaboration with the renowned Chiyonoen Tea Farm, they’ve gained firsthand insight into the craftsmanship behind these exceptional teas.
