Harvest Location: Ta Xua, Son La, Vietnam
Harvest Date: 2024 - Autumn
Cultivar: Shan Tuyet
Elevation: 1750 meters
Sourced from the misty slopes of Tà Xùa in Sơn La Province, this 2024 white tea cake comes from ancient Shan Tuyet trees estimated to be around 300 years old. These old-growth giants thrive at roughly 1,750 meters, where cool air and steady cloud cover slow the leaf development and concentrate the tea’s natural sweetness.
The leaves are picked and crafted entirely by hand by a local H’Mông family, following traditional methods that keep the character of the old trees intact. Expect high qi with a smooth, layered profile—light wildflower aromatics up front, a mellow honey-like body, and a refreshing mountain-clean finish. As you push the steeps, the tea reveals deeper herbal tones and a gentle fruitiness that lingers.
It’s a lively young white tea with plenty of structure for aging, already showing the clarity and calm strength that Tà Xùa’s ancient forests are known for.
