Zhangping Shuixian (漳平水仙) is a rare and culturally significant oolong that stands apart for both its appearance and processing style.
What makes Zhangping Shuixian unique is its pressed form—a compact 10g square cake made by compressing large, full leaves and stems, a method passed down through over five generations of tea artisans in the Zhangping region.
Unlike traditional Wuyi Shuixian teas, this version is lightly oxidized (approx. 20–30%), giving it a brighter, fresher character while retaining depth and balance.
Grown at an elevation of 900 meters, the tea plants benefit from cool mountain air, rich red soil, and morning mists, all of which contribute to the tea’s distinct fragrance and slow growth cycle—perfect for building complex flavor.
Once brewed, the leaf square gently opens to reveal whole leaves with visible buds and stems. The liquor is golden-yellow with a floral, slightly creamy aroma and notes of orchid, magnolia, and light fruit. The flavor is smooth, lightly sweet, and incredibly fragrant, with a clean finish and delicate minerality.
