The word diān (滇) is the short name for the Yunnan region.   The word hóng (紅) means "red".  Dian Hong, as the name denotes, is a Chinese red tea which is made in Yunnan Province.  Dian hong has a high concentration of buds in the dry leaves, creating a rich aromatic, amber brew with a smooth and deep, malty flavor.
